In an era where digital technology is deeply embedded in daily life, ‘attention’ has become a scarce resource—contested, quantified, and commodified. Algorithmic feeds, infinite scrolling, instant messaging, and the relentless bombardment of social media continuously reshape human cognition and behavior.
Against this backdrop, “The Institute of Attention Economics”, a collaborative project by VAVESTUDIO and Flamingos constructs a critical dialogue on attention alienation through spatial storytelling and participatory experience. Rather than offering answers, the exhibition serves as an immersive vessel, inviting audiences to navigate the tension between ‘distraction’ and ‘active focus,’ prompting a reexamination of power dynamics between the individual and technology.
